The six-step remodel process, in detail

Every step below applies whether you're remodeling one bathroom or your entire home. Same team, same fixed-price contract, same warranty.

01

Free Onsite Consultation

45–75 min · No cost

We come to your home, listen to what you want, photograph the space, take rough measurements, and answer every question. No pressure, no obligation, no upsell.

  • In-home walkthrough with the project manager who'll run your job
  • Photos, measurements, and notes captured on-site
  • Discussion of budget, timeline, must-haves vs nice-to-haves
  • Clear next steps — usually a written estimate inside a week
02

Design & Selections

1–3 weeks

We turn your goals into a scope of work, materials list, and finish selections. You review a written spec before a single number is priced.

  • Layout options, cabinet + counter selections, tile, flooring
  • Trade coordination (plumbing, electrical, gas) planned upfront
  • Realistic timeline that accounts for material lead times
  • Visuals when they help — 3D renders or reference photos
03

Written Line-Item Estimate

3–7 business days

A fixed-price, line-item estimate — labor, materials, permits, disposal — nothing hidden, nothing hourly. You know the number before you commit.

  • Every line broken out (demo, framing, tile, cabinets, install)
  • Permit costs and inspection fees called out
  • Payment schedule with milestone draws
  • Financing pre-qual link included so you can budget the payment
04

Contract, Deposit & Financing

Same day

Sign the contract and choose how you pay. We accept credit cards, ACH, checks, cash, or monthly financing through Wisetack and Hearth (OAC, no project minimum).

  • Fixed-price signed contract — no surprises mid-build
  • Deposit + milestone draws (never pay for work not yet done)
  • Wisetack / Hearth financing — 60-second soft-credit pre-qual
  • Change orders always in writing, always signed before we start
05

Build

2–12 weeks (scope dependent)

In-house crews on site with a single project manager who answers your calls. Daily photo updates, a clean job site, and a real end-date.

  • One project manager — same phone number the whole job
  • Daily photo updates so you can watch progress from work
  • Site protected, cleaned nightly, dust-controlled
  • Permits pulled and inspections scheduled on our side
06

Final Walkthrough & Warranty

1–2 hours

Punch list, deep clean, and a workmanship warranty on everything we install. One-business-day response after the job is closed.

  • Walk every surface together — nothing is 'done' until you sign off
  • Manufacturer warranty pass-through on appliances and materials
  • Workmanship warranty on our install labor
  • One-business-day response on any post-job question

Remodel process FAQ

How long does the whole process take, start to finish?+

Most kitchen remodels run 6–10 weeks on site plus 2–4 weeks of design and selections. Bathroom remodels are typically 3–6 weeks on site. Flooring is often 3–10 days. Full-home remodels vary widely — we'll give you a real timeline in the written estimate, not a guess on the phone.

Do I need to move out during the remodel?+

For single-room remodels (one bath, one kitchen, flooring), almost never. For whole-home or gut jobs, sometimes yes. During the free consultation we walk your specific layout and tell you honestly what's livable.

What if I change my mind mid-project?+

Change orders happen — we write them up in plain English with the price adjustment and timeline impact, and you sign before we touch the change. Nothing gets billed that you didn't approve in writing first.

Do you handle permits and inspections?+

Yes. Our team pulls permits, schedules inspections, and stays on-site for the inspector. You never call the city.

Can I finance the project?+

Yes — Wisetack (primary) and Hearth (secondary) on approved credit, no project minimum. Pre-qualification is a 60-second soft credit check that doesn't affect your credit score. Full details on the Financing page.

Are you licensed and insured?+

Advanced Remodeling LLC is a licensed WA general contractor (ADVANRL813RC), bonded, and carries $2,000,000 in general liability. You can verify us on the WA L&I portal.
